1998 Honda Acty Pics and Updates

A 1998 Honda Acty SDX HA4. It is a 3-cylinder, 5-speed manual mini/kei truck imported to Virginia (by way of the Port of Baltimore) in 2023. It has been a great truck, but has some problems I've been working on... follow along!

Service to Date

Folks are always interested in what needs to be done to a 25+ year old vehicle to keep it running. This is everything I've done since importing my Honda Acty:

As I've mentioned before, I have had this bothersome noise going on for a while now. Doesn't impact driving much besides hearing the noise in my head as I fall asleep after long drives.... Also I'll have to get my engine mounts replaced at some point. The rubber is super worn out and the truck shakes like mad when at a stop light, especially if I have my headlights on.

All that being said, I've driven back and forth between Richmond and Fairfax twice now in the Acty and once to Berkeley Springs, WV. It has held up really well on those long drives, especially when you have conversation or loud music to drown out the truck's and road's noise.

Keeping track of mileage and service; The whirring noise.

One of my favorite mods on my Acty is a small notebook I keep on the well-designed dashboard. In this notebook I keep track of every gas fillup and maintenance item that occurs on the truck. I have my tire specs, when oil changess occur, etc. I'm jusst now realizing as I write this that something I should have noted in the book is when the loud whirring noise started... I still need to figure out what is causing that, and it has been going on so long, I should have tried to figure out how many miles i've driven with that issue.

This is primarily city driving, with one trip to Richmond from Fairfax thrown in and a few months of dormancy due to an ignition coil issue
